Helping a Friend or Family Member

If you have a friend or family member who has been, or is currently, affected by discrimination, harassment or relationship violence, we encourage you to help by referring them to the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE). Referring them helps to make them aware of:
- Reporting options
- Support and assistance services
- Interim and long-term measures
- Who they can speak to if they have questions or need additional information
If the concern is an emergency, please call 911.
How to Help

Listen
Show empathy and take care to listen without interrupting.
Offer Resources
