How to Help a Friend or Family Member

Helping a Friend or Family Member

The University of Arizona prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and genetic information.

If you have a friend or family member who has been, or is currently, affected by discrimination, harassment or relationship violence, we encourage you to help by referring them to the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE). Referring them helps to make them aware of:

  • Reporting options
  • Support and assistance services
  • Interim and long-term measures
  • Who they can speak to if they have questions or need additional information

If the concern is an emergency, please call 911.
